The Werner Bernard Foundation pursues charitable and benevolent purposes in Switzerland and abroad.

Its purpose is, in particular, to support artists who engage with the tradition of pottery in an artistic way and who are especially dedicated to ceramic art.
The foundation can support projects both domestically and internationally. Support is provided in particular through financial contributions, the creation and provision of training opportunities, and the provision of the infrastructure necessary for ceramic production.
Geographically, the foundation focuses on Switzerland and Spain.
To achieve its purpose, the foundation may also support other charitable organizations, as well as companies and individuals pursuing similar objectives. The foundation is non-profit and does not seek to generate profit. All of the foundation's funds are exclusively dedicated to its charitable purpose. Within the scope of its objectives, the foundation operates throughout Switzerland and abroad.

Werner Bernard, born in 1939 as Werner Rüesch in Goldach (SG/CH), created a significant artistic oeuvre over more than half a century .

With the establishment of the Werner Bernard Foundation in 2025, a sustainable framework was created to pool works, knowledge, and financial resources in a targeted, structured, and responsible manner. The foundation ensures the preservation of the artistic legacy, promotes its care and accessibility, and safeguards the intellectual values underlying Werner Bernard's work.

The Werner Bernard Foundation sees itself as a catalyst for present and future artistic creation . It enables talented and dedicated individuals to develop and create new artistic and craft works .
